**AsPi and Papad**

AsPi and Papad work are about developing technology that aspires to keep in mind the many who are disenfranchised with respect to using technology either due to lack of literacy or due to patriarchy or due to social and moral norms in their contexts. A web for all has to use conversations, story telling and media making and sharing - else it will only be for those who are 'conversant' with text.

How do we make-sense of conversations, how do we use a platform to help make-sense of the conversations, how all do we provide tools to help communities to make-sense of their conversations with themselves and outsiders. **What are the indicative KPIs for this work.** How do we explain the indicators and their amplification potential. How do we prepare processes that validate these over the project time and lead to a quantitave analysis.

AsPi and Papad aspires to complement the main stream W4P Programme activity by helping attend to the intangible aspects of these KPIs, where 'technology' intends to include low-literates, women and those disadvantaged due to social and moral norms.

Papad and its backend work shall contribute to most of the Prototype activity listed below. We can notice that while AsPi is a computer, a network node and media making and sharing device, its build to help catalyse group interactions or community radio interfaces. While Raspberry Pi is still generally unavailable, we are working on how 'radio' clients can be phones and megaphones that interface with an AsPi to increase the spread of reachability. Also as Papad backend is now reaching a state where it is deployable for custom audio/media application needs, the radio related devices will be served by a local, regional or global Papad server.

* AsPi is not visible from the auto. A "bull horn" like interface will provide a program for the day/ride and also enable recording. One can use a phone also for interactive needs.

We can continue from Bangalore meeting and the work that followed in terms and technology development and its goals and process we discussed/planned to go forward with TRIF - the progress and the followup needs. Maybe lead to a co-development of KPIs for AsPi, Papad and inclusion of communities in the KPIs that aim to bring technology to help bridge the historic structural gaps in communities and knowledge economies.
