# CLARE APC research questions
by Servelots
>How can community-based processes for grassroots communications enable communities to be more climate resilient and able to advocate for policy change?
*how can we nurture, support and facilitate community led processes for risk-informed climate action and resilience?
how can communities articulate what they are doing for climate, their practices and spread awareness?*
* cohesive communities
*how facilitating cohesive communities and spaces lead to activities which can later on result in resilience and action.*
does cohesiveness reduce climate impact, what about when a single person working outside and send money so rest remain in a village, what about WHF work from home cases
* role of a community network
*How can community network help in addressing the ground up communication needs for spreading awareness by the communities about their own practices to the world?*
learning and local first, offline first access and .. **local resource mapping** (increase finding local skills and services, reduce packaging and distancing, and making local risk-resilience ready)
* creativity and climate
*What can lead to communities taking actions and having resilience? what capacity needs to be built/inculcated?*
when local youth validate themselves with creativity, process risk, develop resilience. Are there excercises of resilience..
Sk and dr. R are setting up a mesh network at some tribal villages in Orissa so that conversation related to health can take place over the community network. They shared a story of piped water. Sk noticed that lots of people looked sick and even the dogs around had skin issues - so much that he was afraid to pat them. He asked his doctor friend R about this.. There are year long streams near by all the tribal villages. They used to use buckets and get water to their homes. Now the govt setup piped water to the homes and the run off, along with sewage, stagnates nearby and is the source of lots of diseases. Which brings us in to the need for planning the drains before pipes to a process that would get the creative tribes to take action of attending to the stagnates. Role of dr. R and mesh networks in instigating risk-resilience and action.
>**What are guiding principles for participatory, inclusive and accessible community-led processes to address grassroots communication needs for risk-informed climate action and resilience?**
* attention to all, including women and the low-literate
* inclusive, collective expressions and storytelling
* maker spaces and FTP
* loosly coupled inter-dependent communities at work
* replicable models of processes - grounding in practices of risk and resilience

* Stories of resilience and resilient women can be basis to research activities to follow
* Dinesh on grandmother: During Indian Independence struggle, my grandfather was almost always away from home - either in protests or in jail. He was not there to help feed a large family of 6 to 8 person. My grandmother had design her farm and garden to get daily income, seasonal income and annual income. So we had veggies and flower area. Seasonal grains area and annual crops area. We used to help harvest veggies and flowers before going to school and get a basket out by the gate so a seller going to the farmers market would pay and pick it up on her way there.

- open public data lab? - with a twist in what is data of interest. is data that help with no warming possible?
- modern interventions (orissa tribes) running water intervention without sewege drains - sickness now over all.
