# DerivaDEX launch HQ:
Welcome, DerivaDEX extended family!
- We're gearing up for an imminent launch of our first product: **insurance mining.** If you're not familiar, this is a product that enables users to stake to our insurance fund in exchange for DDX tokens. This year-long program bootstraps a healthy insurance fund for our exchange.

- Insurance mining launches at the same time as Governance! DerivaDEX is a DAO from day 1. What that means is every modification: a freeze, an update, or a parameter change must go through the governance process.

- We are IP blocking US countries and OFAC.

- Our exact timeline is still subject to a final approval from legal. We expect to get that on Wednesday, ahead of a Thursday launch. The short version is:
Tuesday: Announce insurance mining program + details
Thursday:
- Publish token economics in-depth
- Launch insurance mining and governance

We may modify the publication dates, we will keep everyone updated!

- We will be publishing an in-depth announcement of our insurance mining program around 9 AM EST.
- We will be simultaneously publish a chinese-language version.
