# EPF-5 | Week 1 Before being selected to EPF, I had attended the study group and coming from computer science background, really appreciated the technical details which I wasn't that aware of before. In the first few weeks I have planned to spend my time in exploring the projects and researches which delve my interest and background while attending the core dev meetings and the discord discussions of Eth R&D to keep myself updated and make the best out of this opportunity. ## Updates * I went through the project ideas and explored some of them in depth. I also checked out previous cohorts repositories for unimplemented projects and implemented ones. * I researched along ePBS on the lines as proposed by the Prysm team. Went through some of the blogs of potuz, ethresear.ch links, community calls and the devcon sessions. The problem and the concept both are intriguing to me and it seems I would be able to work on this so would start preparing a proposal around the same (in the upcoming week). * Along with this, I researched on libP2P's custom Golang implementation. This project idea is also something I would like to work on. So I am currently understanding the implementation of libP2P and then preparing a proposal for the implementation proposed by the Prysm team. * I attended the ACD call and looked briefly into Kurtosis, Pectra and EIP 7688. * Also I am going through the current priority tasks as was discussed by Tim during the office hours (EIP 4444 (historical data), 7600 (Pectra), 7594 (PeerDAS)). Would look into their details in the coming weeks too. * Some references * https://ethresear.ch/t/block-proposing-validating-timelines-for-1-mev-boost-2-epbs-and-3-epbs-with-mev-boost/19782 * https://youtu.be/Yy3zsX-CB0Q?si=5_htfYJrALtxwQTf * https://youtu.be/sQQ2UYB3qOI?si=jF9UyDEuCYVVr_vA * https://hackmd.io/@potuz/rJ9GCnT1C * https://ethresear.ch/t/why-enshrine-proposer-builder-separation-a-viable-path-to-epbs/15710 * https://blog.libp2p.io/libp2p-and-ethereum/ * https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/networking-layer/ * https://hackmd.io/ZNPG7xPFRnmMOf0j95Hl3w * https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-7600 * https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-4444 * https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-7594 ## Next Week Plan Apart from the above projects proposed by Prysm team, I am also interested in the following and would try to research about them in the next week so as to get a clear understanding of which projects I could pick up for this cohort. * Lightclient research and testing proposed by Lodestar * Beacon chain harness for client testing by Lodestar * Nimbus project lists * SSZ transactions library proposed by Besu * Get new ideas from ACD calls There are certain areas not mentioned in the project ideas which i would love to explore, including and not limited too the developments of reth, mev-rs and ethereum testing and security. Looking forward to great weeks of building and learning :)
