# Origins

"Homeworld" refers to any planet that host native sapient life. These places often hold immense histories and deeply varied cultures, as well as being highly economically developed locations.

Located in the Sol system, Earth is a slightly irradiated planet with a moderate climate and water covering roughly two thirds of its surface, with five major habitable landmasses. It is the capital world of the Most Serene Solar and Intersolar Confederation, commonly shortened to SolGov in casual conversation, which has total jurisdiction across the entire planet. It has a single natural satellite, Luna, roughly one-sixth as massive as Earth and currently protected as a nature preserve. Earth is the evolutionary origin of the Humans, who are still its predominant inhabitants.

Located in the Reki system, Teceti is a nightmarishly hot and arid planet with water covering much of its surface due to loss of polar ice. Centuries ago, a runaway greenhouse effect pushed Teceti's already-warm climate into an even worse state, resulting in what we see today. It has two major polities, the Directorate (SOUTH) and the Coalition (North), along with the polity inhabiting Larisafa, Teceti's ring system. Teceti is the evolutionary origin of the Kepori, who are still its predominant inhabitants.

Located in the Bezuts system, Kalixcis is a veritable wellspring of life. Nearly four fifths of its surface is covered by water, with two major landmasses (bordering on "supercontinent" size). Kalixcis is a very warm planet, with even its poles supporting beautiful, lush foliage for most of the year, and an inhospitable desert around the equator known as the Pale Ring. Kalixcis is considered to have four major polities: the Pan-Gezenan Federation, the Antechannel League, the Zohil Explorat, and the Zale Kingdoms. Kalixcis is the evolutionary origin of the Sarathi and Elzuosa, said to have "cultivated" each-other throughout history, and are still its predominant inhabitants.

Located in the Oau system, Egys is a polluted mess of a planet. Once full of life, its natural flora and fauna were decimated when first contact was established with the wider interstellar community. It is currently under the custodianship of the Rehabilis Internationale, a joint council consisting of Solarian, Kalixcan and Teceti advisors alongside native governments that seeks to "Rehabilitate Egys and undo past damages," and is responsible for ecological rehabilitation projects and distributing aid packages. Egys is the evolutionary origin of the Vulpkanin, who are still its predominant inhabitants.

Located in the Syebenaltch system, Reyehim is the fourth moon of the jovian planet Tunaltch, and the only one known to support life. Reyehim has highly variable seasons due to its orbit; its robust subterranean ecosystem is able to thrive year-round, and most life has evolved a semi-subterranean lifestyle. Reyehim's major "polities" are its five art Unions, coalitions of like-minded artisanal guilds. Reyehim is the evolutionary origin of the Rachnids, who are still its predominant inhabitants.

Not a "homeworld" in the traditional sense, the Shoal is a massive planetary-scale megastructure. Consisting of countless pressurized bulkheads packed together and continuing downwards for seemingly forever. The salvage industry is rich here, for the secrets contained within the labryinthine Shoal are of deep interest to many. The Shoal is predominantly inhabited by Vox, whose evolutionary origin is unknown and irrelevant.

Located in the ??? system, Haruspex is a mist-covered planet boasting oceans larger and deeper than any other world. On habitable landmasses are biodiverse, vivid jungles, full of large insectoids due to Haruspex' oxygen-rich atmosphere. Great humidity across the planet results in a thick, roving fog covering most of Haruspex for most of the year. Haruspex has a singular Queen; however, she is more of a cultural figure rather than a political one. Instead, every city in the planet has its own government that manages its citizens. Haruspex has a single moon orbiting it, of considerable mass. Haruspex is the evolutionary origin of the Serpentids, who are still its predominant inhabitants.
