The Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI) Community Oversight Council (COC) was established to further transparency and accountability of open infrastructure services, providers, funders and supporters. The purpose of the COC is to surface themes, trends, and issues in the open research and scholarship infrastructure sector and adjacent spaces, to provide a collaborative, safe forum for discussions, and to advise and inform IOI staff and Steering Committee on mechanisms to ensure that IOI’s work is serving our community. Meeting with external collaborators

This is an IOI-internal process for setting up calls between IOI team members and external stakeholders. The goals of this process IOI team members should be able to independently set up calls and have conversations with external stakeholders and partners, and at the same time, we wish to be intentional in our engagement with stakeholders. "Intentional" here means that we are aware of IOI's existing relationship and past engagement with the person(s) we are speaking with and/or their organization(s), such that we make the most out of our time together and can effectively build on previous conversations. As with our other areas of work, We also want to make sure that there is documentation regarding these conversations, for transparency and visibility across the team and for future team members and work.

Definitions Staff are individuals employed/contracted to work full- or part-time with IOI with an engagement period of 6 or more months, and who participate in core IOI activities. Affiliates are individuals or organizations contracted to work with IOI on specific, defined deliverables. Affiliated individuals are typically employed/affiliated with other organizations (and not IOI).
