## About the Session
### Part 1: Re-imagining how we think of investment
This session is designed as a conversation with a representative of an organization pushing the limits of how we think of investing in serving communities. Her perspectives on community-owned infrastructure, financial transparency and service, and approaches to maximize well being are ones we want to draw inspiration from for our work at IOI.
- Kaitlin Thaney, IOI Executive Director (moderator)
- [Pia Mancini](https://www.piamancini.com/), co-founder, [Open Collective](https://opencollective.com/); on their work and efforts to “[Exit to Community](https://opencollective.com/e2c)”
### Part 2: Nonprofit effectiveness and assessment
This session will explore the practical dimensions of our work in evaluating and prioritizing areas of need to further more equitable allocation of funding that supports the global research community. We’ll hear from practitioners and experts in nonprofit evaluation and management, and explore together the work ahead.
- Richard Dunks, IOI Director of Research & Strategy (moderator)
