# Finances Tab Last updated: 2023-01-16 URL for this page: https://hackmd.io/@investinopen/COIs-finances-tab URL for site: https://hackmd.io/@investinopen/COIs ## Purpose To describe broadly how the organization providing the service is funded based on available information (source indicated on the charts). ## Elements * **Primary Funding Source** - Indication whether primarily funded through program service revenue or contributions, including grants, gifts, and donations *(determined from information provided by the organization)* * **Total Revenue and Expenses** - Chart of the total revenue with the total expenses *(reported by the organization)* * **Total Assets and Liabilities** - Chart of the total assets with the total liabilities, as well as the net liabilities when these are both taken into account *(reported by the organization)* * **Contributions, Gifts, and Grants vs Program Revenue** - Chart of revenue from contributions (grants, gifts, and donations) with program service revenue *(reported by the organization)* * **Investment Income vs Other Revenue** - Chart of revenue from investment income with other revenue *(reported by the organization)* * **Top Granting Organizations** - Alphabetical list of funding organizations with verified contributions to the organization *(reported by the organization and funders)* * **Number of Members or Sponsors** - Number of members or sponsors describing the support base for the operation of the service *(reported by the organization)* * **Self-ranking Importance Measures** - Based on our [survey of service providers](https://github.com/investinopen/hidden_costs_materials/blob/main/materials/pre-interview-questionnaire.md) prior to interviews. *(reported by the organization)* * **Funding Sources** - Self-ranking of the reliance the organization has on each funding sources listed * **Cost Percentages** - Self-ranking of the relative percentage of the budget going to each of the costs listed.
