The Index Coop is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) made up of a small group of core contributors and a larger community of product holders, governance participants and supporters. As a DAO we work on the cutting edge of decentralized finance to build simple, accessible and secure on-chain structured DeFi products.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated engineer to help us onboard users to the next generation of financial products. You will take ownership of high-quality and high-performance user interfaces, with a strong sense of responsibility to empower users while keeping their funds safe.

**Responsibilities**
- Rapidly implement functional UI components that read from and write to the Ethereum blockchain
- Integrate Index Protocol smart contracts into our front-end applications
- Proactively collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to enhance user experience
- Maintain high code quality and test coverage

**Requirements**

- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency with TypeScript and React
- Passionate about the architecture of modern React applications
- A desire to keep up with modern best practices in web development
- Excellent written communication in English

**Nice to Have**

- Experience with web3 technologies (ethers.js, Rainbowkit, etc.)
- Experience making complex, client-side smart contract calls
- Have built web apps that make use of long-lived connections (polling, websockets, etc.)
- Understands web design principles and enjoys producing mockups and other design docs
