# Testing protocol
### DRS-P.4 Traction
Described validation process requires simulation result.
For making this sim. Michael will need at least friction coefficient between ground material and PLA profiles (where are we going to conduct the test?)
**Traction can be performed either on asphalt or topsoil, for either of these two we can get standard friction coeff from literature assuming specific conditons (e.i wet or dry surface, depending on the wheather and so on..)**
As far as I know friction coeff. is very sensitive to material paaring/surface roughness etc. so it will be challenging to find the right value (it's our task to provide it to Michael). How realistic is 5% tolerance then?
**I believe we can raise the tollerance level up to 30% of sim data, let me know if it is a reasonable assumption for you too.**
### DRS-P.10 AdaptabilityToSurface
With surface properties you mean vertical position?
I don't get the last sentence :0. You mean +-20% discrepance from simulation value is allowed?
### DRS-F.5 TippingOver
We'll also add verification from sim. here
**Updating of Protocol, done**
### DRS-P.1 StableIdleState
Verification with simulation partially possible. Simulation for driving on a non-sandy surface is realistic (same issues as with Traction). Accurate simulation for sandy surface is challenging to create. Creating a mathematical model for static loadcase in sand was a semester thesis from one of the previous PC member so modelling driving around would be too much.
Do we have a plan for driving around on inclined surface? Where?
* The other option for sandy surface was to perform an iterative process, not more than twice or perhaps just once and have a rough idea on how the rover would behave, I would opt for non-sandy case result as more effective for testing result. (Given our resorces)
* I do have a plan for driving the test. I have been around campus to see if we could find suitable location to replace the testbed. I will add a column regarding envirnment test and test results classification (as you asked me) if you think it could be helpful.
