# Data Dojo Würzburg 1 ## Open Test Run - **When:** June 10th, 2021 at 5:30pm - **Where:** Zoom - **Zoom:** [Link](https://uni-wuerzburg.zoom.us/j/97626210608?pwd=MUFkVFFkVEVGaUwvNUVYUDJPUW8wQT09) Meeting ID: 976 2621 0608 Password: 474677 - **Info:** [DataDojo Website](https://ddojo.github.io/) - https://github.com/ddojo/ddojo.github.io :exclamation: As a test run it will be shorter, than usual. Please plan for 60 to 90 minutes :exclamation: ## Collaborative Tools and Workflow In the first Test Run [VS Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/) with [Live Share Extension](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=MS-vsliveshare.vsliveshare) was found to be a suitable tool for real time collaboration. Unfortunately, notebook support with VS Code Live Share is an experimental feature which is currently broken (but expected to be fixed soon): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/liveshare/reference/notebooks and https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/live-share/issues/4291 Once this is available, it seams to be the ideal solution especially as it has a unified interface independent of the language (python/julia/R/...) :warning: For this test run it would be helpful if you could install [VS Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/) with [Live Share Extension](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=MS-vsliveshare.vsliveshare) before hand. > If notebook support is fixed the [VS Code Insiders](https://code.visualstudio.com/insiders/) version would be required as long as it is experimental. This can be installed alongside regular VS Code without problems. ## Dataset [Mario Kart 64 World Records (TidyTuesday)](https://github.com/rfordatascience/tidytuesday/blob/master/data/2021/2021-05-25/readme.md) Potential Questions: - How did the world records develop over time? - Which track is the fastest? - For which track did the world record improve the most? - For how many tracks have shortcuts been discovered? - When were shortcuts discovered? - On which track does the shortcut save the most time? - Which is the longest standing world record? - Who is the player with the most world records? - Who are recent players? - Webscraping: get data for another version of MarioKart from https://mkwrs.com/ ## Participants > Please add your name to the list if you plan to come. And please remove it if you can not make it. - Markus - (Anne) - Timo - something came up, might be joining late or next time :) Hi Timo, thanks for letting me know. It will not be as long as usual (probably only 60 minutes) so don't hurry too much and rather mark your calendar for next time  ## Future Suggestions > Add your suggestions to the list and :+1: to the end of a line you are interested in ### Datasets - ### Kinds of Questions - ### Tools/Languages - R/tidyverse - python - Excel - [veezoo](https://www.veezoo.com/) ### Skills - interactive maps - dashboards - animations ## Cross Links - [previous pad](https://hackmd.io/FUJE2rSHRHiqu-v1Vgg-gg) - [next pad](https://hackmd.io/nEtqtdxPTRajJKysKSykQQ)
