# **Bangalore Computer Club - Music Visualisation Project**
Making a music video for experimental electronic music. I am familiar with plenty of electronic music artists who use unusual and out of the box producction. These guys seem pretty new on the scene, as I couldn't find any music put out by them other than a jam session on facebook.

Need to toy around and get familiar with this sound. Yashas recommended looking at the original Tron, Lawnmover Man and techtronix visuals for a reference for what kind of visuals I could incorporate.
## Week 1 - Day 2 (13/06/2023)
Exploring what kind of music they make and getting familiar. They seem to be using a oscilloscope, which is a device which measures electronic signals as sounds.

Could possibly incorporate VR into this project, so will be running and looking into those two concurrently.
## Week 1 - Day 4 (15/06/2023)
I had played around baking sound into blender animations earlier, decided to get more in depth into that feature today. Learned how to isolate frequencies and bake music without stems and only the master audio file.

# Moodboards
While figuring out unreal engine, I also wanted to begin exploring the visual development of the music video project. Hence, i began compiling references and ideas for this piece might look like.
First I worked with Chaitanya, to figure what an virtual reality sci fi environment with an Indian touch might look like and then i build moodboards from those initial ideations.

One of the first things that was brought up in our conversations was Shangri la from Far Cry 4, which had this particularly lush and fantastical environment which was based in a north eastern indian context. I thought this would gel very well with earlier ideas i had about a tron-like virtual environment.

Then we talked about creating a vr space(which can possibly be projected) with multiple screens and gadgets simulating something similar to working on a setup with oscilloscopes but instead the screens are playing the visuals present on these instruments.

## Poster
decided to create a poster to explore what the visuals might look like. Started by creating a bunch of thumbnails and looking at a ton of retro futuristic references alongside the moodboards I already had.

On the first poster I worked on, I tried to lean into an extremely techy aesthetic inspired by the visuals used in oscilloscope videos.

I drew from a lot of references for the second posters, including old graphic novels, expecially something that had a little bit of a Mike Mignola Style to it, combined that with some retro-futuristic aesthetic with an Indian touch and also added half-tone texturing. This one is a little out there but I wanted a very surreal and absurd concept.

Will be going back on the thumbnails and exploring more, so stay tuned.
