Per region of a few villages we need a **local person** (native Portuguese speaker and locally known / respected) who also supports the idea of decentralisation, freedom of payment, and lightning solution 2. We could use a **digital nomad / expat / expert** to assist or present in English. 3. Invitees: people that are interested in joining 4. Hosts: people that run a business and are willing to host the 30 minutes presentation to begin with. 5. Visitors: people who actually showed up at the 30 minute presentation 6. Students: people who are willing to subscribe to the 4 times 2 hours course. ## Process Three steps with all three a thourough preparation. Don't proceed to the next step before having checked all the boxes. Never check a box if the action hasn't been fully completed. ### Prepare - [ ] Get the narrative in place, that proved to work in Praia da Luz and Burgau: **Cash is going to go. How do will you solve this?**. Offer 30 minutes closeby in every village (!) and present 10 tips in 30 minutes to solve the problem with **"mobile payment apps"**. - [ ] Be sure all invitees speak at least some English. Of course they will get support in their native Portuguese language but the topic we address generally needs some knowledge of English. - [ ] (Optionally) Create a leaflet in both English and Portuguese like [this one](https://hackmd.io/uGiwhR4mT-6D1SdtH8tzyA) - [ ] Plan to go at a convenient time for the entrepreneurs. They should be too busy. If they are busy: mirror their behaviour (you are busy too!). ## Door to door Bring Value - [ ] Go out on the mission, collect **phone number and name** in your phone, optionally leave a 1 A4 dual-language leaflet behind and promise to get back within days. - [ ] When somebody wants to join, **ask right away and always if they also could host the event** if you see that that's possible there. Even if you've got lots of options, still ask it provisionally! "We already might have a location closeby, but would you also be interested to host it? Maybe for future occasions?" - [ ] Check if a possible host has wifi. Note the wifi code in your phone. - [ ] Check that all possible hosts have a plain white wall to project a future presentation on. - [ ] If people don't want to understand / don't want to listen / heavily object / spit on bitcoin / show physical aversion : **be friendly and go away**, don't waste time and energy on people that won't be in the first ranks of adopters. - [ ] Reconfirm the host. Be sure to get confirmation back about the right time opening the venue for us. - [ ] Thank him or her or the business for having us this time in the group. And thank the other possible hosts for offering! ## Preparation Discussion and appointment local Whatsapp group - [ ] Add the company name to the Names in your phone - [ ] Create a Whatsapp group for all telefone numbers, add their fully descriptive names to your phone so you know *who is who* when they chat or call you. - [ ] Start interactions the latest 5 days before the 30 min presentation. Think of asking the following type of things: - what do you want to learn next 30 minutes presentation? - what do think will happen with cash Euros of government and banks? Be clear about the following things: - We're not going to make them rich quickly - We're not going to teach them how to exchange euros for crypto - No NFTs, no crypto coins, just alternative cash payments via phone. - [ ] **Call / ping every single member of the group personally** to ask confirmation that they really will be joining the presentation, because money and time is put into this operation and we bring value so it's highly unpleasant if somebody would not show up when they promised to do so. - [ ] Repeat Day, time, location, duration, topic at least 3 times in the group. Example: > What: 30 minutes in Corso Pizzeria about howto overcome the loss of cash payments in Euros Who: Sole entrepreneurs and retailers in Burgau When: Feb 26 at 11hrs sharp in the morning, doors open 10:45am. Where: Corso Pizzeria in Burgau; address: Largo dos Pescadores 3, 8650-117 Budens - [ ] Reconfirm to the whole group who will come. Use their names for example: > See you Next Sunday at 10:45hrs da Manhã, Joao, Miguel, Theresa, ..., thanks for confirming your presence, we will have a vibrant discussion! ## Preparation of the 30 minute presentation - [ ] Localize this presentation (be sure to have the ppt (Powerpoint) or keynote (Apple Mac format)). Example [here](https://i.ibb.co/F5PKjG6/10-tips-30-minutes-v1-1.jpg) - [ ] Rehearse the presentation - [ ] Pack yur stuff and double check: beamer, beamer power cord, power extension cord, HDMI cable, optionally HDMI - USB {which one?} connector fo your laptop, laptop, phone - [ ] Be at the location half an hour before the projected start time. - [ ] Get on the local wifi - [ ] Test beamer - [ ] Actually start 15 min (Portugese 15 min) late, but not later, for it might bring the people that were in time in scheduling trouble. ## 30 minutes presentation - [ ] Goal 1: deliver content as promised (10 tips) in the promised time (30 min) - [ ] Goal 2: get subscriptions for the 4 evening 2 hours course - [ ] Assistance in Portuguese if the presentation is done in English. - [ ] Give room for questions, but not too much to people that want to talk by themselves (endlessly) because this disturbs the group - [ ] Stop one hour after the planned starting time (so max. 45 minute presentation + questions, because you start 15 Portuguese minutes late). ## Report back to your community - [ ] Share your experiences in a meetup as a speaker or interviewee. - [ ] Improve this recipe to give a kick start to other teams in other villages. ## Report back to your groups - [ ] Share number of subcriptions for the course, planned course dates, and number of free spots still available for a reduced price. - [ ] Optionally Share the 30 min presentation in pdf format (if you do not intent to have another 30 min presentation to this specific group)
