  • Tropicana casino, is trying to strike a deal to build a slot shop near a proposed minor league ballpark at the site of Aere Systems in eastern Allentown, according to sources who have spoken to developers and casino operators. Aztar, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is one of at least three casino operators expected to apply for licenses to operate slot stores in the Lehigh Valley as the Pennsylvania Game Control Board agreed to accept applications starting Nov. 1. Among them, Bethlehem developer Luis Fector confirmed on Friday that he has a gambling partner who will apply to bring slots into the corridor of Route 33. To date, only Las Vegas Sands Co., owner of the Venetian casino, has announced plans for a slot hole, but the gaming board's decision Thursday to accept applications was like paving the way for a race to bring gambling into the Lehigh Valley. "It's in a fantasy world that we thought there would only be one candidate in the Lehigh Valley," Representative T.J. Rooney, D-Lehigh, and Northampton said. "Including the Tropicana's plan for the Aguer area, there will be at least three applicants. This is just getting started."

I picked several players from Korea, and they were my favorite players," Pepper Savings Bank's new coach Yoo Ji-yeon said at the time of the nomination. "They are competitive in terms of height and power. They have a good understanding of volleyball. They have a good living, enough to earn scholarships for four years in the U.S. What caught my eye when I came to the venue was that they explained to other players about the practice. They also had a good living, good living, enough to receive scholarships for four years in the U.S."
