# Transition to Bitwarden from LastPass ## Step 1: Export CSV File from LastPass (All OSs) 1. Go to the LastPass login page at https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 2. Enter your email address and master password, then click Log In. 3. If prompted, complete steps for multifactor authentication (if it is enabled for your account). 4. Based your navigation pick one option: - Select the Account tab, then go to Fix a problem yourself > Export vault items. - Select Account Options OR < your username > at the bottom of the menu, then go to Advanced Options > Export. 5. If prompted, enter your master password. If desired, select Do not re-prompt for and use the drop-down menu to select a time interval. 6. Select Continue. Result: An email notification has been sent to your LastPass email address for verification. 7. Check your inbox for a "Verify export" message, then click Continue export in the email to verify. Note: The verification link expires after 10 minutes. 8. Return to your vault, then go to Advanced Options > Export again. 9. If prompted, enter your master password and click Submit. ## Step 2: Install Bitwarden App on Computer 1. [Download the App](https://bitwarden.com/download/) 2. Install 3. Check your email for an invitation from Holo for Bitwarden 4. Proceed to create account and confirm ## Step 3: Import CSV to Bitwarden To import data to your vault: 1. Log in to the web vault at https://vault.bitwarden.com 1. Select Tools from the top navigation bar. 1. Select Import Data from the tools menu. 1. From the format dropdown, choose a file format. 1. Select Choose File and add the file to import or copy/paste the contents of your file into the input box. 1. Select Import Data to trigger the import. If you are importing a password protected .json file, enter the password into the Confirm Vault Import window that will appear. > File attachments, Sends, trash, and password history are not included in an import file. See [Vault Health Reports](https://bitwarden.com/help/reports/) for how to view reports. 1. **Change *Exposed passwords* immediately and *Reused passwords* ASAP.** ## Step 8: Check for shared credentials If there are any shared credentials that you rely on, that you don't see being shared with you via Bitwarden, check in with TechOps and/or whoever shared those credentials with you. ## Step 9: Cancel account and Remove LastPass 1.
