PLEASE READ

All of my up to date settings, peripherals, PC specs, and configurations can be found in my Discord Server.

Why send me to a document instead of just answering my question?

  • I get asked the exact same set of questions every time I stream. Instead of giving you a half assed answer to your question, or not answering your question at all, I'm putting them all in this document. This make it easier for you to find the information you want, and makes interacting with chat much more enjoyable for me. Thank you for understanding :)

Settings Questions

> Why do you change your sensitivity and other settings all the time?

  • I view my sensitivity, resolution, keybinds, gameplay settings, video settings, etc. all as tools that I use to express my mechanical skills. Those mechanical skills exist independently of the tools I use to convey them. I change and tweak the tools I use to experiment, freshen things up, or to work on a weakness I struggle with. If I ever change a setting because it is objectively better or worse than another setting, I will make it very easy for you to know. Otherwise, tweak your settings based on your own personal preferences and goals.

> Why do you use a 144 FPS cap?

  • I value the consistency of my frame rate above all else. I would much rather have 144 FPS 100% of the time as opposed to a higher frame rate 75-50% of the time. Superglides are also much more easy to hit on 144 FPS.

> What is a 1:1 ADS sensitivity?

  • Apex Legends automatically lowers your sensitivity when you aim down sights with specific weapon types (you can learn more about this using the Apex Legends Sensitivity Calculator. A 1:1 ADS sensitivity refers to the act of matching your hipfire sensitivity to your ADS sensitivity, which is most commonly done on 1x optics.

> Why don’t you use a 1:1 ADS sensitivity?

  • I personally did not like going against the default focal scaling values Apex uses, it made things feel a little weird across the FOV changes. In addition, a true 1:1 ADS sensitivity on all weapon types is not achievable due to how the focal scaling system works: Pistols, SMGs, Shotguns, and 1x optics have a different multiplier than Assault Rifle, LMG, and Sniper Rifle iron sights which threw me off for the longest time and was something I couldn't get used to with 1:1. I do occasionally experiment with 1:1 but don't plan on using it in the long term anytime soon.

> Why do you use a stretched resolution?

  • 1920x1080 looks too “tall” for me, I personally prefer the way stretched looks and have for a long time, although I do sometimes switch back to native for fun.

> How do you set up your 1728x1080 stretched resolution?

  • I use a program called Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to achieve this resolution by forcibly changing the “active signal resolution” of my monitor (tutorial here). 1728x1080 has the exact same “stretch” as 1680x1050 because they both are 16:10 resolutions, but 1728 looks better because it has a higher pixel density.

> Where can I find your autoexec?

  • My autoexec is available to download and use in my Discord Server under the “settings-and-setup” channel. Most of the command line arguments don't work anymore unfortunately, but I keep them in there anyway just in case.

Setup Questions

> Why do you prefer earbuds over a gaming headset?

  • I prefer IEMs not only because their sound imaging is better, but also because it’s not as much weight on my head as a headset, which allows me to play for long periods of time without having neck/upper back pain.

> Why is your stream so smooth?

  • If my stream looks smooth, it's becasue I'm streaming at 120FPS. Because Twitch does not officially support 120FPS streaming, it says “936p60” in the quality options. Click on the Settings wheel, go to Advanced, then enable “Video Stats”. This will show you what framerate the stream is actually running at.

> Why is your stream smoother than my game?

  • 99% of people on Twitch stream at 60FPS. My stream is running at 120FPS. My stream is twice as smooth as every other stream you watch. This tricks your brain into thinking that my stream is smoother, because your point of reference is two times LESS smooth than what framerate my stream runs at. It is nothing more than a placebo effect. If you were to play Apex at 60FPS, then increase your framerate cap to 120FPS, you would feel the same effect.

Improvement Questions

> How do I get better at Apex?

  • Play as much of the game as you can. Play the game proactively, don’t mindlessly grind. Increase the concentration of your practice by isolating specific skill sets, then practicing those skill sets in isolated environments. Take personal responsibility for EVERYTHING. Take notes, VOD review, and view everything as a learning experience.

> How do I get better aim?

  • Aim training increases the concentration at which you are able to practice your aim, at the expense of that training not being 1:1 with the game you’re trying to improve in. Use aim training as a supplement to the practice you get in game, set small goals for yourself and be consistent.

> How do I get better movement?

  • Treat movement like building blocks. Master individual movement techniques one at a time. Play the game with the intention of putting movement tech to use, one tech at a time.

> How to be more consistent?

  • The best way to improve consistency is to rewrite your habits. 40-95 percent of human behavior is rooted in subconscious habits, meaning that this governs a LOT of how you do ANYTHING, including everything you do in video games. This can be done slowly over a long period of time (thousands of hours), or by making yourself aware of what they are, compartmentalizing them, and working on rewriting them one at a time, which can lead to faster improvement.

> How can I get 20 kill games/20 bombs?

  • Pre-plan out your rotations using the drop ship path, drop hot, use weapons that you can find ammo for easily/are very ammo efficient (shotguns), and pray that everyone else in the lobby doesn’t kill each other.

> How can I get 4000 damage/4k games?

  • Artificially prolong fights by letting your enemies heal from large amounts of damage you deal, make sure to thirst every kill (it still counts for damage) and use weapons that you won’t have a hard time finding ammo for.

Apex Questions

> How long have you played Apex?

  • I’ve played since day one for a total of around 8,000+ hours and counting.

> Who do you main?

  • I main Wraith, and have 100,000 kills on her. My second most played legend is Pathfinder, who I have more than 10,000 kills on

> What are your stats?

  • You can find my stats here

> What was your highest rank?

  • I finished above top 150 in Season 12 during both splits, top 200 in Season 3, and peaked top 50. I played pubs during every other season.

> Do you play competitive Apex?

  • I've experimented with it in the past, content creation always has to come first though considering it is my full time job. Most of the time, competing comes in direct conflict with content creation because I make content surrounding pub gameplay, this could change in the future if I decide to start grinding ranked
