# Introduction to blockchain gaming <!-- Put the link to this slide here so people can follow --> slide: https://hackmd.io/p/blockchain-gaming --- ## What is "blockchain gaming" An emerging field where games are built with blockchain serving an infrastructural or foundational purpose in the game. --- ## NFT Games Games which use the blockchain primitive, non-fungible tokens, as core elements of gameplay / the game’s economy. --- ## Play to earn Game monetization model and where you build an economy to support players who play the game in order to earn yield in-game. - sample: Axie Infinity  --- ## Play-and-earn Game monetization model where you have players who play the game and have the potential to earn while playing. - see eSports in CSGO / Starcraft. --- ## True digital ownership Players own their assets in-game and are free to sell it & trade it outside of any walled gardens. - So, not the Steam marketplace. (faux ownership.)  ## Metaverse gaming the idea of a centralized virtual world, a “place” parallel to the physical world  ## Token Economy Token Economy: The flow and utility of tokens (both fungible and non-fungible) within the game.  ### Thank you! :sheep:
