Several special characters are allowed, including space, period (.), hyphen (-), apostrophe ('), underscore (\_), and the @ sign. Username should be unique. - **Password** - text. Password strenfth is calculated automatically. - **Confirm password** - text. Password and confirm password values should match. - **Status** - blocked or active (default). - **Locale settings - Timezone** - Select the desired local time and time zone. Dates and times throughout this site will be displayed using this time zone. Optional entries include: - **Email address** - a valid email address. All emails from the system will be sent to this address. The email address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by email. Wmail address should be unique. - **Roles** - checkboxes. Select the roles that should be assigned to this user. Please refer to the [Access Matrix](https://confluence.novartis.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=165118280) page for details about roles and permissions. - **Notify user of new account** - checkbox. - **URL alias** - Specify an alternative path by which this data can be accessed. For example, type "/about" when writing an about page. **Step 3:** Fill in the fields and click **Save**. The user will get access to the system. **Step 4**: To manage user permissions, navigate to the **People** menu: ![People Menu Item](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/ByriPp84q.png) **Step 5:** On the People screen, you can filter users, apply actions to selected users, or add new users or edit user permissions. User permissions will be updated.
