# On DAOs and Delegation
Hero DAO set out many months ago to start a super hero franchise that is owned by its fans through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO).
In our DAO, all the money held for the project is in 1 single treasury. When ever we want to use those funds to create something like art, a script, marketing content, incentives, etc., everyone who is a member of the DAO gets to vote on where funds are sent. In traditional organizations require, even if there is a board/group voting on what should happen, they still rely on executives (human beings) to execute that. Humans have their own interpretations for every task they are given, *for better or worse*. Our DAO is run at a high level without human intervention after voting, but actually autonomously.
## Everyone's Story
**Moon Girl #1** is The first comic Hero DAO is making and will be released later this summer. This comic, character, and story belongs to everyone in the DAO.
As a collective, we:
- raised funds from the community
- voted as a community on what character to focus on
- voted as a community on what writers to delegate with the story
- voted as a community to approve a script
- voted as a community on artists to work on the stencils, lettering, and coloring of the comic book
- voted as a community to pay all the creatives who worked on the comic and reward them with additional shares in the DAO for their contributions
How can we say that everyone created it when it was written by a small team, not everyone?
How can we say this process was autonomous when individual artists were delegated to complete parts of the comic?
