--- tags: Week 0, H3 --- # Program dynamics Now that you're familiar with the course structure, let's have a look at how you will progress through it. As you know, we have designed the Hyrise course to be self-guided. This means you will be able to access the course, review the content, and complete the assignments whenever best fits your schedule during the week. **Having said that, there is a certain weekly structure, touchpoints and interaction with others you will follow to ensure you make the most of your course and don't fall behind.** Below you can find the estimated completion timeframe in weeks. ![](https://i.imgur.com/iFE04pl.png) Now that you have a general idea of the timeframes, let's have a look at the main stakeholders and milestones you will encounter through the course. ## πŸ™‹ Your Student Success Manager Your Hyrise Student Success manager will be your point of reference throughout the whole course. You should have already been introduced to him/her in your onboarding email. You will meet during your onboarding call, but feel free to reach out to them on Slack and introduce yourself if you haven't done so already! πŸ™‚ :::info Your Student Success manager's main responsibilities are to: * Help you when you're stuck or need direction * Ensure you make the most of our program and succeed in launching your new career ::: ## πŸ€“ Your Sales Trainer Your Hyrise Trainer will be the industry expert responsible for providing feedback and coaching on assignments and progress. Your Student Success Manager will introduce you to him/her once you start the course. :::info Your Trainer's main responsibilities are to: * Provide feedback and coaching on assignments and progress * Mentor you through your new career path, encouraging and empowering your development. ::: ## ✊ Your squad You will likely complete the training together with a squad of colleageus. We try to keep squads small, between 2 and 5 people maximum. This will be your team πŸš€ Knowing how to work and integrate within a sales team is a major factor for success. This is why you will work closely with your squad throughout the whole training. :::info Your squad's main purpose is to: * Help maximize learning by sharing the journey * Help you when you're stuck or need direction * Get you used to working as part of a sales team * Hold each other accountable to progressing through the course ::: You should have already been invited to a slack channel with your squad. Make sure you introduce yourself and get to know all team members individually! Before we move on, let's do a quick example of a Q&A to know who to ask: :::warning **Question:** *"I am stuck setting up my tools for cold calling, who do I reach out to?"* **Answer:** Your Student Success Manager **Question:** *"I have questions on the coach’s feedback on my assignment, who do I ping?"* **Answer:** Your Sales Trainer **Question:** *"I have questions regarding the difference between Sales Funnel and Sales Pipeline in Module 2, who could I ask if I understood correctly?"* **Answer:** Your Squad! ::: We hope its clear now, but if you still have a doubt...ask your Student Success Manager πŸ˜‰ ## πŸ—“οΈ Weekly structure Remote learning on your own time is awesome for many reasons, like flexibility and accessibility. However, from our experiences, it also poses some challenges, like feeling lonely and bored or procrastinating work. To make sure you get most out of our program whilst keeping a high level of flexibility, we have established a weekly structure that resembles that one of a real-world sales remote team. You and your squad members will go through this weekly routine together each week. In an nutshell: * **Monday Planning** - 30 minutes meeting with all your squad to set the objectives for the week * **Daily check-ins** - Daily written check-ins with your squad online to track progress and remove blockers * **Friday Reflection** - 1.5 - 2 hour meetings at the end of the week to review progress and receive coaching and feedback. Here's a visual summary: ![](https://i.imgur.com/P3kSOap.png) Your Student Success manaer will cover each meeting in depth during your onboarding session, but let's have a brief look at each one: :::info ### Monday's - Planning Meeting - **Goal:** Align with your squad members on goals for the week - **When:** Mondays - **Medium:** Zoom (live) - **Duration:** 30 minutes - **Agenda:** * Student Success Manager (SSM): * Weekly outlook (learning objective and curriculum content) * Announce weekly min. objective - Students: - Minimum time commitment for the week - Individual objective for the week * Captain: * Meeting documentation ::: :::info ### Daily Check-in Every day you will briefly share feedback on your individual progress makes sure you stay in sync with your fellow squad members. - **When:** Daily from Tuesday to Thursday - **Medium:** Slack (async, written), in your respective squad channel visible to all squad members - **Deadline:** To be shared by 10am latest - **Content of update:** (short and to the point, see example below) * Yesterday's progress * Today's objective * Roadblock / Support request (if any) - **Captain:** make sure all squad members have updated, if not, actively follow up See an example of what a daily update could look like: ![](https://i.imgur.com/vIpErpm.png) ::: :::info ### Friday's - Reflection Meeting There are two concepts paramount to sustainable learning: peer-based feedback and individual reflection. During these meetings, we are going to combine both :smirk:. You will share your weekly progress and individual learning highlights, and your sales coach will share selected submissions of weekly assignments and provide beneficial feedback followed by a group discussion. - **When:** Fridays - **Medium:** Zoom (live) - **Duration:** 60 minutes - **Agenda:** * Captain: * Share group progress * Each student: * Individual progress * Weekly highlight * Key learning * Support request (if any) * Sales Coach: * Share common observations from weekly assignments and provide feedback on selected student submissions * All: * Group discussion ::: ### "Captain".... what? Each squad will have a weekly rotating captain. The captain's role is to basically keep the squad together and make sure everyone is putting in what it takes to maximize learning. At the end of each reflection meeting, the current captain passes over the baton to another squad member of their choice. For the first week, your coach will act as squad captain. ## ✏️ Documentation Although admittedly not the sexiest task, great documentation is key for any successful salesperson. In this case, we will ask you to document your weekly progress and key learnings throughout your week so we can review it together during our reflection meetings. Going back to your weekly notes as you progress through the course will also help you realize just how much you have learned. Your notes will be documented in a tool called Notion (don't worry, we will onboard you this tool in the next lesson). You will always be able to access them on the dashboard of your Hyrise Studio (see image below). ![](https://i.imgur.com/eBgk0UV.png) :::info - Access the meeting notes on Notion by clicking [this link](https://www.notion.so/headstartacademy/Hyrise-Squad-Meeting-Notes-dd97eba2af9b41a4b2703c88cf56ae99). - Click on the page element labeled with your squad number - No need to do anything right now, other than getting familiar with the structure. We will use this in your first planning session. ::: ## πŸŽ‰ Other events ### A. Hyrise socials A big part of the value we provide is attributed to the Hyrise community that you will have life-long access to. After you complete this program, you will always have the chance to ask other community members for feedbackand help. For a community to work, we have to get to know each other! For this reason we are regularly inviting all current students and alumni to super fun and engaging (online) social events :tada:. We are always leaving these events feeling extremely excited and grateful for the great people coming together! ### B. Masterclasses We regularly invite industry experts to share their own best practices and experiences with you on a topic that they are passionate about. These are live videoconferences that usually last one hour. Only current students and alumni have access to masterclasses. You will be invited to socials and masterclasses via email by your SSM. You will find these sessions on your personal calendar belonging to the email address we have on file. Don't worry, we know that's a lot of information. You will gradually get used to the course dynamics and we will cover it in depth during your onboarding session. You're now ready to make the most of your Hyrise Academy adventure πŸ˜‰.
