--- tags: Week 3, H3, M8, Assignment --- # ✍️ Assignment: Create your first cold email template Before we begin sending out emails, it's now time to apply the learnings from previous lessons and create your own cold email template! &nbsp; ## The assignment :::info - [x] Write up a cold email template (including the subject line) ::: ## Tips - You might be thinking - didn't you say each email should be personal? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean you can't write a basic structure and leave placeholders to modify and tailor certain areas to each specific lead. Your introductions will likely vary extensively, but your call to action not so much. 😉 - We recommend following the structure mentioned before: :::info 1. **Relevant intro** - begin with a short, engaging, relevant intro. 2. **Pain** - deep dive into the person's pain point. Once again, be specific, to the point, and show you've done your research and deeply understand their problem. 3. **Solution** - how are you going to solve that problem? Provide a short intro to your solution and how it solves the problem you mentioned before. If you have previous clients with big names, include them as validation. 4. **Call to action** - There has to be a very clear call to action at the end. In most cases, this will be a meeting for your discovery call. ::: - Before writing it, remember to answer the following questions: - Who do you want to reach? - What kind of message do you want to convey? - Why should the receiving person care (what is the core value you provide)? - If I were the person receiving this, would I be interested? :::info Lastly, **review this checklist** before and AFTER you have written your template and make sure you can check off all points (credit goes to Kyle Coleman that has inspired us for some of it). ![](https://i.imgur.com/W6gDPgL.png) 👉🏻 Download the Checklist by clicking [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/10CBef2QQHcNA9dQO-6faOnXAXp7MML7U/view?usp=sharing) ::: Once you have it, please submit **sharing a link to an editable online doc**. <style> body > .ui-infobar, body > .ui-toc, body > .ui-affix-toc, body > .ui-community, body > .document-footer { display: none !important; } </style>
