# What kind of salary can you expect?

Tech Sales is one of the most financially lucrative career paths in tech, especially because of the high commissions paid if you hit your quotas.

Salaries are usually split into:

1. Base pay
2. Commission or bonus (10%-50% of base pay) to be earned upon hitting a defined quota (for example revenue, margin, number of customers etc.).

If you hit your sales quota, we call the final amount earned "OTE" (On target Earnings).
