--- tags: Week 3, H3, M8, Assignment --- # ✍️ Assignment: Create your email follow-up templates Especially when you start out with email prospecting as a channel, do not be disappointed with low response rates. In the daily flood of email communication, it's just normal for prospects to not jump at the first impulse. In fact, the success of email communication usually lies in the follow-ups you send. We cannot repeat this often enough: always, ALWAYS follow up. It is a key deciding factor for succesful sales people. Remember from one of the previous [learning units](https://hyriseacademy.talentlms.com/unit/view/id:4933) that 50% of sales happen **after the 5th (!)** follow-up. Now, it's your turn to show us how you go about following up via email. 🤓 &nbsp; ## The assignment :::info - [x] Write up two email follow-up templates: - [x] for the 1st and - [x] the second follow-up - [X] Create compelling subject lines for both (!) - [X] Share them with us below ::: Write it up using an editable online doc that you can share with us below. &nbsp; ## Tips - You are creating follow-ups for the following scenario: - You sent your first email but have not heard back from the other person. The first follow-up mail you are about to create is sent a couple of days later to get a response. - Unfortunately, you don't get a response to your follow-up either. You are now sending the second follow up email ("following up the follow up"). This is what the second template is for. - We recommend you review the [learning unit](https://hyriseacademy.talentlms.com/unit/view/id:4934) on email follow-ups. - Do NOT just copy the templates we shared. It's ok to get some inspiration but we highly encourage you to come up with your own. - Refer to the first, original email you sent. Often times people just miss or overread emails. For that reason, your first follow-up should essentially have the same content, touching on the pain you solve, the solution and the CTA. Sending a rephrased version of the first email therefore often does the job. 😉 - Second follow-up: Get creative. Try a different subject line, refer to a blog article, success story of a similar customer, an article you recently read... whatever adds value and may trigger a response. &nbsp; Once you are done, please submit below **sharing a link to an editable online doc that has both (!) templates** and... Put these to a test to finally get a reponse! 🚀 <style> body > .ui-infobar, body > .ui-toc, body > .ui-affix-toc, body > .ui-community, body > .document-footer { display: none !important; } </style>
