# Step 3: Finding contact information
Alright so:
✅ You have a company list
✅ You've identified key people you'd like to target within that organisation on LinkedIn
**🤔 How do you get their contact information?**
As we will see in the next weeks, it's perfectly fine to contact people directly through social channels. We call this social selling and we will cover it at length shortly.
Sometimes, however, it's more effective to cold email or cold-call them. For this purpose, it's important to know how to get their contact details.
**There's not one single solution for this. In fact, there's a huge market of solutions out there!**
Let's look at the two main ones:
- **Databases** - There are many databases out there you can buy (monthly license or full database) that will give you the contact information of business leads
- **LinkedIn add-ons** - Given the popularity of LinkedIn for B2B, several plugins will extract the person's contact information from their profile
Chances are your company already has one of these solutions in place. If they don't, we recommend suggesting implementing one as soon as you're in the company:)
## 1. Email
In the video below we continue with the example from the last lesson and show you an example of one of the most widely used solutions for getting valid email addresses: hunter.io
We recommend you also try out these tools as alternatives to hunter.io:
Easy, right? 🙂
*p.s. Want to know how the tools are different? Check out this [blog post](https://www.lusha.com/blog/email-finder-tools/) by Lusha.*

## 2. Phone numbers
Once again, there are many tools promising to have valid and updated phone numbers from business contacts. We are introducing you to two of the most commonly used ones: [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/) and [Zoominfo](https://www.zoominfo.com/).
Both provide tools that belong to the category of lead capture, lead intelligence and lead mining. They provide various solutions, but for sake of this lesson we are focusing on their feature to provide phone numbers.
We encourage you to run a trial with both tools. The beauty with Lusha is that it let's you get started right away (ease of us definitely is a competitive advantage!). For demo purposes, we are showing you how to get access to phone numbers using the Lusha LinkedIn plugin. Go to their website and install their browser extension now.

::: warning
**Note:** If you can't find a specific phone number, make sure to visit the company's website and pull the phone number for their regional headquarter. These are either listed under "contact" or the "imprint" section (usually at the very bottom of their website). These numbers will take you to the company's reception from where you can ask to be forwarded to the respective person of your interest.
