# How do I establish myself as a credible expert? (old)
By publishing and sharing relevant content and interacting with other people (e.g. by commenting on their posts) in a meaningful way. This doesn't happen overnight, it's a process that takes effort and time. It's all about providing relevant content and truly wanting to be helpful in a sustained manner.
**🤔 So where do I start?**
There is a variety of ways of how to do social selling. Here is a list of actions that pays into your goal of establishing yourself as expert:
Since LinkedIn is super critical to B2B sales, we will go into more detail on how to share content in a compelling, engaging way in upcoming lessons and assignments.
Note, that on LinkedIn you can also connect with people and directly message them. To you, this may feel similar to sending cold emails. However, using LinkedIn as channel offers advantages over email:
1. You can "connect" with people sharing a personalized message.
2. Mutual access to profile information and photo (making it more emotional).
3. You stand out as people likely receive fewer LinkedIn messages than mails.
**🤔 How much time should you invest?**
It depends on how important of a channel it is to your business. In general, we recommend to invest about an hour a day. If you see that in your particular case social selling is more effective than cold calling, you should obviously start investing more time.
