--- tags: Module 7 --- # Confirming the meeting :::info **You're in step 1 of a discovery call:** Plan & Research ::: Every time you book a discovery call, you will feel great. You will feel like you have accomplished something. All your activities, learning and practice pays off. Celebration time! But then, when you log into the meeting at the agreed upon time... nothing. Radio silence. No show. Uff.... . Unfortunately, no shows are part of the game. It's usually an indicator saying that your leads have not seen enough value and maybe only agreed to the meeting to get rid of you. However, there are simple measures you can take to increase your show-up rate that we want to share of you. Why share now? Because those are measures you need to take as part of your prep leading up to a discovery call. ## Working with reminders As simple as it may sound, sending reminders is an effective way to create commitment and increase meeting show-up rate. There are two we recommend you use: **24 hour reminder** 24 hours before the meeting, send a friendly reminder to the other attendee. Ideally, you also include helpful information that makes the other person see the value in meeting with you. Example: > Dear Mark, looking forward to speaking with you tomorrow at 11am. Please find below a link to case study explaining the issues of a company that's in the same industry as you. It also talks about the solution they found. Thought it may be something you can relate to. http://greatfittingcasestudy Talk to you tomorrow! If anything comes up, please reach out anytime. **10 minute reminder** This one is a last minute reminder making sure that the other person isn't accidentally missing the meeting. You can use it to share the dial-in or conference details, e.g. if you are using Zoom or comparable providers. Example: > Hey Mark, just in case you don't have the dial-in details handy, here you go.
