# How to structure your day
Alright. So you:
- Know the final results you need to achieve in a given week, month or quarter (your quota)
- Know the type and number of activities you need to perform to achieve these results
**🤔 How do you go on about planning your day?**
Great time and self-management skills are crucial to any successful salesperson.
First off and very important in sales (and life in general... successful execution requires careful planning! You need to have an action plan in place to get to your objectives. Adherence to this plan takes discipline which is a key trait to have (or develop) in sales.
If you are not disciplined in doing your calls, researching leads, or following up (which will be covered later), you won't succeed. Period.
You need an effective method to make your day most productive. Here is a great way to do it by sales expert Brian Tracy, who has been around the block for decades!
