# How technology enables sales
::: success
Let's move onto our last section for this module: technology as an enabler for sales! 🚀
:::
Nowadays, there are a huge amount of software services and technology that help you execute your sales activities and be more efficient and productive.
:bulb: In fact, high-performing sales teams use nearly three times as much sales technology as underperforming teams! Technology helps improve all aspects of sales - from organization and planning to prospecting, all the way to proposal creation and closing.
There are so many tools out there, we could fill an entire course just by introducing different technology applications and providers tailored to the profession and processes of sales.
Want proof? Check out this admittedly overwhelming graphic serving as an overview of the different sales technology categories and their providers:

🤯 Mind blown!
No worries, you do not have to know all of these :relieved:.
Let's make it easier by sharing an overview with you that structures all tools for SDRs into five main groups.
It was created by Gartner, a research and advisory firm, that calls it the "SDR tech stack":

Let's go through them one by one:
1. **Data:** Everything that goes into your CRM, like their name, phone number, email and all communication records.
2. **Infrastructure:** the CRM - like Salesforce or Pipedrive (there are many providers) - that stores all lead, prospect and customer related data.
3. **Execution:** These are self-explantory - your basic go to applications for communication including the increasingly important social channel (LinkedIn) and video solutions like Zoom (video conferencing) or Loom (screen-recording).
4. **Application**: These are apps making you more efficient and more effective in your work.
5. **Measurement**: Apps allowing (sales) organizations to measure and track user (lead, prospect) engagement across all channels.
As you know the world of technology evolves fast, and there are several other tools and categories appearing constantly.
For the sake and focus and your training, we won't get into all of these now, and will focus on covering the three main ones you will be using in your day-to-day and in our training program:
- **CRM Software** such as Salesforce or Hubspot.
- **Video-conferencing tools** such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- **Screen-recording Software** such as Loom.
If you're interested in additional tools, you can find an overview of up and coming ones in our extra-resources section of this module 😉.
Let's continue!
