# TridentDAO Twitter FUD 2021-11-08 Hey everyone, Some of you may have ran into a twitter thread claiming bad things about Trident, or have caught the resulting voice chat. We'd like to quickly go over the events as they happened, and our side of things. At 22:02 UTC 2021-11-08, user @ruffiian on Twitter posted the following thread: https://twitter.com/ruffiian/status/1457831040647671808 The tweet advises people not to involve themselves with TridentDAO (on BSC), because 'seed members' rugged a previous project. 1. Trident is on Harmony One, not on BSC. 2. The previously 'rugged' project is an OHM fork created by https://twitter.com/lamatrades, more on lama down the line. 3. The claimed Trident 'seed members', are not in fact seed members. One of them has contributed to the Trident frontend through UI/UX design, the other we have never heard of before. ### Course of events Trident community contributors spotted the tweet rather quickly, and it was shared in our working channels. The community responded, pointing out the fallacies in the original tweet asking if the original poster perhaps confused Trident with a different project. This devolved into more discussion in the comments, which at the time of writing is all readable in the original tweet linked above. Screenshots from the working discord were leaked within a minute by @lamatrades. Over the next few minutes it became clear that a contributor who was involved with Lama's project also contributed to Trident. From what we gathered, this contributor received a seed allocation in Lama's project for his work. The contributor in question chimed in personally at this point saying "(..) I paid 1 Eth to RocketInu (llama guy) in their seed sale and got my tokens and I saw a big sell on popcorn so I sold after", which is the extent of the 'rug'. It should be clear that this is not a rug. No scam nor fraud was involved, no smart contracts were touched. In fact, the contributor is a UI/UX designer, and has not made code contributions. We'd also like to add a disclaimer: just because a person is a contributor here or anywhere else doesn't mean their every action is endorsed by, or should reflect on, the organizations to which they contribute (including Trident in this case). Yes, vetting should be a thing, however as far as we could tell this user had no malicious intent. What happened is unfortunate, but should in no way reflect on Trident. We hope you all agree. ### Lamatrades Lama joined the TridentDAO Discord soon after inception, and offered to contribute to the frontend and design. Lama created the Trident roadmap image that was shared on socials, a background for our frontend, and some discord emojis. That is the extent of his contributions. Lama has requested we do not use these assets any longer, which we'll work to replace to honor their request. ### In closing What happened is unfortunate, and we hope that the people who were negatively affected can recover. From our investigation, no malicious intent was found, and we do not plan on blocking the involved contributor from doing work at Trident. We hope that this clears up any misinformation that has been spread over the past hour. Please also be assured that all seed investments at Trident will be vested, such that a similar scenario is not possible. If you have any further questions feel free to tag a mod or admin, and we'll try to get you an answer as quickly as possible.
