# Session 28 (2023-01-07)

## Current status
We ended [the last session](/OZUVVqdvS8acEgldDk1wwA) setting up camp in the swamp, after a hard fight with a couple of crocodiles.
We are still headed for [The Arbor Witch](/tvvZFxX4Tp-NipoQNpdP-w#The-Arbor-Witch).


## Island Horse
We met a pretty horse on an island. The horse is saddled with a pretty black saddle and headgear.

The horse was non-responsive to horse-ish or common.

When I mounted the horse and it jumped into the water. The horse dissolved and tendrils came out of the water, grappled me and tried to pull me under.

It was a long and hard combat and I may have passed out at one point, but we deafeated the plant beast and I was pulled out of the water.

After a short rest, we continued our journey south-east.

## Post-horsey travel
After about 4 hours, the water became very shallow and the boat was scraping against the bottom.

About 500 meters away, we saw land, so we got out of the boat and decided to drag it along with us.

As we arrived on land, [Aelen](/8uCZ8WhjQeyghi-_mxgOFg) noticed a thin trace of smoke. so we hid the boat and snuck towards the origin of the smoke.

## Very big house in the country
After sneaking around the house, [Zov](/cfjMmRWhRx2a5saKtmMwaQ) opened the back door and was met by a woman standing inside.

The woman invited us in, but requested we washed up first, which we did.

After sitting down around her dining room table, she introduced herself as the Arbor Witch.

The Witch was very reluctant to return, as she believes she would be tortured and killed by [The Queen of Air and Darkness](/86IVlAuTR8SCpkT042P6rg) upon her return.

We suggested that she defecting to the Seelie Court, to gain the protection of [Queen Titania](/hlrRezzaRI-8tfREJiRpkw).
She will need a few days to determine if this is a viable option.

## Negotiations begin
She mentioned that there is a a tower being built on the material plane and it will be reflected in [The Forgery](/uWzfqyfFRW2D_bbPMdgfOg), but she prefers to have that area remain as it is, so we can go on a quest to raze the tower, to earn her favor.

She claims to be able to send us to the Material Plane, but requires us to give her some of our blood or hair (or scales in the case of Zov).
This is supposedly needed for her to bring us back afterwards.

Considering that she made no promises to help us and that we might die, trying to help her, and that we do not know what she will be able to do to us, with our blood, this did not seem like a particularly great deal to us.

To sweeten the deal, The Witch offered to make us Fey Touched, upon our return, but that still means that there will be no more incentive for the witch to help us afterwards.

We agreed to sleep on the matter and continue talking in the morning.

## Going to bed
In our room, we discussed the issue further and agreed that it makes the most sense, to wait until she knows if she is even able to go back, before we negotiate about going on a quest for her.

I found a book about the history of the Feywild and learned [Titania](/hlrRezzaRI-8tfREJiRpkw) was supposed to be the leader of The Fey, but someone stole a powerful black magic diamond intended for her. I was too tired to finish reading the book, but my assumption is that this was how [The Queen of Air and Darkness](/86IVlAuTR8SCpkT042P6rg) rose to power.
Hopefully I will get to read more tomorrow.
