# Session 06 (2022-05-21)

## Current status
[The previous session](/s6VbH0fUQ4SPM8mqoprP0Q) ended after we fought 3 cubes in the tunnels under [Imyr](/LfoRx_GvTSeEkH4qYqM_Vw).

## A rest and a hatch
After a short rest, we found a ladder with the bottom rungs eaten by the cubes. [Zov](/cfjMmRWhRx2a5saKtmMwaQ) lifted me up and I dropped down a rope for the team.
Top of the ladder was a hatch, that I couldn't get open, so Zov pushed it open after a couple of tries.

## The hatch led to the outside
We are behind a couple of large boulders, on a slight slope and hear Dwarvish voices nearby.
Sneaking out we see a camp of dwarves, approximately 60 feet down a slope from us towards the east, between us and the river.

To the west is a slope going up towards the mountains around 10 km away.
Lots of bushes and some trees in the area.

## Travelling North/North-West
2 days and nights went by without incident, but on the third day [BDK](/8uCZ8WhjQeyghi-_mxgOFg) rolled poorly :P
18 wolves were eating a big buck.
One wolf walked towards us in a potentially threatening manner and I used Speak With Animals, to communicate to it, that we meant them no harm and we walked away.

4th day of travel I shot a deer and [Aelen](/8uCZ8WhjQeyghi-_mxgOFg) identified the magic dagger from our encounter with the cubes.

## Up the mountains
During the night, Aelen saw a dragon flying overhead, but it didn't seem to notice us.

On the 5th day the river turned left, forcing us to either attempt to cross it here to continue on our path or follow it up the mountain, looking for an easier way to cross. We decided to head up the mountain.
During the night, I met a man sneaking around, apparantly searching for something.
He was in the middle of a large pile of bones when I found him and he claimed to be tracking a wounded deer.
Speaking to him, he told me his name was [Halen](RAW9i2xIQAuk_02ysO674g#Halen-and-Amira) and he lives approximately a mile and a half, further up the mountain.

He could see me in the dark, suggesting that he wasn't using Dark Vision, which indicated to me, that he is not a humanoid, possibly a dragon shape shifted into a human.

We asked him to lead us to a place where we could cross the river and he informed us that the nearest place was where he lived, by a mountain lake.

The group decided to follow the man.

## At the mountain cabin
It turns out the man had a wife named [Amira](RAW9i2xIQAuk_02ysO674g#Halen-and-Amira) waiting for him at the cabin. She welcomed us and offered us food. Oddly enough, she had a very large meal prepared.

The nearby dragon is a red dragon and it doesn't seem to bother them.
There is a black dragon further down the mountain, which they are more concerned about.
Amira warns us that we probably want to hide if the dragon is near.

We slept in a side room and the night went by without incidents.

In a valley 10 miles South/South-West from the cabin, there's a dwarven mine, belonging to the Battlehammer Clan.

Another mountain lake West/North-West of here. Black dragon lives near there and it's not safe.

## We leave the mountain lake
10-15 km past the lake, there's a deep crevasse.
With some team work we made it across and further down the mountain, we camped for the night.
During the night we could see camp fires behind us.
