# Session 07 (2022-05-28)

## Current status
[The previous session](/4YInOC9bRkCUwwvEdpUFMA) ended with us heading north along the river, with the ultimate destination being [Goldkeep City](/Ccl0zw4SQc6Z83MED4Hamg), where we need to deliver a letter to [King Dhavir](/QkILODpeR6mQHrJ_63ddKg).

## River crossing
When we arrived at the road, there was a shallow crossing across the river. As we walked into the water, a group of mounted soldiers from the Northern Baronies attacked us from behind.

We tried to keep moving across the river, but they charged into the river and attacked us.
Fortunately, the horses weren't as effective in the river and we narrowly made it across, where we were met by [Dwarf Captain Thorik](/ZiTT5zX7TMC70zspcQhcOg#Captain-Thorik-of-the-Dwarven-Army), who threatened to fight the soldiers of the [Northern Baronies](/OpsNni7WTxiUotI-xinfKw) if they tried to cross into the [Kingdom of Goldkeep](/TZmmruKAQZezx9ZN-WLdfA).

Stuff happened and one soldier got a crossbow bolt through his neck, which the others took as a sign it was time to leave.

## Woman on the road
Met a woman named [Magar](/ZiTT5zX7TMC70zspcQhcOg#Magar) on the road east of [Osthaven](/c0VsF4eiQmWukiu42_aXEQ). She seemed confused and and said she was trying to find her way home, but she had a map showing a house in a forest and there was no forest anywhere near us.
She didn't seem to realise this fact, but we couldn't quite decide if she was crazy or not.

## Osthaven
The guards took the woman into their care and directed us towards the nearest inn.

## At the inn
I paid up front for food, drinks and rooms.

## On the road
The following day we were on the road again, this time with a caravan, headed for [Goldkeep City](/Ccl0zw4SQc6Z83MED4Hamg).
A couple of days into the travel, there were 2 men hanged from a tree next to the road. The caravan drivers told us that they were likely criminals and we kept on driving.

A couple of days later, we came across 5 beggars looking like lepers on the side of the road. I threw them 5 silver coins.
The drivers told us that they were likely trying to collect enough coin to get to a temple to be cured.
Moradin is the state deity.

## Entering Goldkeep
Coming from north east
Before hit castle, turn right towards the party central with all the inns.
A few hundred feet is where the inns start.
The closer we get to the castle, the posher the place.

## At The Shaggy Willow Inn
Fairly large, three stories building, called The Shaggy Willow.
One room for 4 people.
Took a bath, had dinner and went to bed.
