# Session 24 (2022-10-29)

## Current status
We ended [last session](/A8tA28HmTJqdI0Xsac2tuw) travelling North, on the West side of the central river, on our way from [The Prince of the Chase](/tvvZFxX4Tp-NipoQNpdP-w#Prince-of-the-Chase) to the [Arbor Witch](/tvvZFxX4Tp-NipoQNpdP-w#The-Arbor-Witch).


## Crossing the plains
As we approached the Northern edge of the plains, we set up camp.
During the night, a crow approached [Aelen](/8uCZ8WhjQeyghi-_mxgOFg) and had a chat with him, which resulted in Aelan giving the crow a gold coin.

The next day, we met the crow again, at the edge of the forest. He offered to be our guide, to lead us to the swamp, which we accepted.

## Travelling through the forest
We reached the road and turned east across the river.
After walking for most of the day, we were attacked by two creates with very big glowing eyes, but we fought them off fairly easily.

The journey continued East for another hour before we set up camp.

## Keeping watch and meeting lady bugs
I was swarmed by lady bugs and I had a vision of a giant sharpening a two-handed sword inside a cave, to the North of our location.
We decided to go there, after we had our long rest.

## Waking up and heading North
In the morning we started heading North. The crow decided he didn't want to join us, and he stayed behind near the road.

Approximately 3 hours before reaching the cave, we set up camp.

During the night, Aelan heard voices speaking in Common. He woke up Zov and me and I snug closer to the voices.
It turned out to be 5 black cats chatting. They had been following us and seemed unhappy that we weren't fighting anything.
When I spoke to them, they vanished.
I went back to bed.

## Walking from the camp towards the cave
As we approached the cave, the giant from my vision came from the south and attacked us.
He went down fairly quickly, but as he did, a female giant came jumping down from the top of the mountain and attacked us.
We killed the second giant and took the sword.

Aelan identified the sword as Flame Tongue
### Flame Tongue

>You can use a bonus Action to speak this magic sword's Command word, causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a bonus Action to speak the Command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.

Zov attuned to the sword and we took a short rest. There are approximately 5 hours remaining of the day and we decided to end today's session.
