# Session 26 (2022-12-03)

## Current status
We ended [the last session](/PXlTmm-FQeeQnsKb2AitNA) near the edge of the river.
We are hunting down three sprites, that we suspect killed a leprechaun and according to Aelan, sprites live in trees, which are rather scarce in this area, so it should be fairly easy to find.

On the grander scale, we are still on the way towards the [Arbor Witch](/tvvZFxX4Tp-NipoQNpdP-w#The-Arbor-Witch).


## Approaching the sprite village
The sprites told Zov and Aelan that the Leprechaun was actually a ferocious killer that had stolen their gold. They managed to kill him and take back the gold, but since we removed the gold from his corpse, he will now come back to life and hunt us down.

Zov agreed to join forces with the Sprites and we moved to a clearing near the river, where the Leprechaun is expected to come through.

## The ambush
The creature was invisible when he came, but I saw his footsteps on the ground and I cast Spike Growth.
The creature immediately cast a Wall of Fire obscuring my vision, so I missed more than I hit.

Zov and Aelan approached the freak and he created a magical darkness around himself, making it nearly impossible to hit him, but he could still see out and hit us, so I cast a Fog Cloud on him, evening the battlefield.

This caused him to move outside the darkness and the battle continued, but he then blinded me.
When I could see again, the battle was over.

The Sprites left us with a vial full of Dust of Disappearance. There is enough for two uses.

### Dust of Disappearance
*Wondrous Item, uncommon*

> Found in a small packet, this powder resembles very fine sand. There is enough of it for one use. When you use an action to throw the dust into the air, you and each creature and object within 10 feet of you become invisible for 2d4 minutes. The duration is the same for all subjects, and the dust is consumed when its magic takes effect. If a creature affected by the dust attacks or casts a spell, the invisibility ends for that creature.

During the night, some bread appeared on a plate next to me, but I didn't touch it.

## Back to the bog
The next morning, we followed the river back to the bog, but when we got there, we didn't see a safe way of travelling through it, so we decided to attempt to contact the local elves for assistantce.

We followed the river back to where we last saw the Elves and crossed at that point.
When we couldn't locate the Elves I tried speaking to some nearby ducks and they seemed to agree to fly and look for the Elves in exchange for us digging up some worms.

One duck returned, telling us that it had seen the Elves about 10 minutes flying time to the North, so I gave it my worms and we headed off.
