# Session 18 (2022-09-10)

## Current status
[At the last session](/raGeTTqWSa-2533fDDsMNg), we travelled to the mirror dimension, fought some monsters and ended up convincing the rogue mirror image of The Lady of the Looking Glass, named ydaL, to return to acting as a mirror image.

We are standing outside, looking down from the mountain, and we see the river leading towards the Fossegrim.

Walking down the mountain, we tried looking for crystals.
[Aelen](/8uCZ8WhjQeyghi-_mxgOFg) found a Feywild shard

[Zov](/cfjMmRWhRx2a5saKtmMwaQ) found a clear crystal, seemingly a diamond.

## At the river
We found some logs and made an improvised raft and headed into the river.

The crossing was a little slow, but went OK and when we arrived on the other side, we set up camp to dry out clothes and take a rest.

## Towards the Fossegrim
On the way towards the [The Fossegrim](/yn-Pwp05SLGgqnStZfxU7w), we met a big scary creature, but managed to stealthily avoid it and after an exhaustive journey, we arrived at the Fossegrim's lake, where we set up camp.

## Towards The Green Man
In the morning, the Fossegrim showed up and we had a chat with him, before leaving towards [The Green Man](/tvvZFxX4Tp-NipoQNpdP-w#The-Green-Man) in the West.

## Wood Elves and Gnomes
After walking about 10-12 hours, we arrived at a clearing with an unusual tall bridge over a relatively narrow stream, about 20 m wide.

Met some Elves and after a lot of trouble communicating, they took us to an elderly Elf woman named Sari, who speaks common.

Across the river is a Gnomish village.

Aelan will sleep in the trees with the other Elves while Zov and I will sleep in the Goblin village.
An elderly Gnome named Orji speaks Dwarvish and we had a chat with him, before going to a feast at the Elves' village.

>Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)
>Soldiers of the Boros Legion consider it an honor to bear this shield, even knowing that it might be the last honor they receive. The front of the shield is sculpted to depict a grieving human face.
>You gain a +1 bonus to AC for every two allies within 5 feet of you (up to a maximum of +3) while you wield this shield. This bonus is in addition to the shield’s normal bonus to AC.
>When a creature you can see within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to take that damage, instead of the creature taking it. When you do so, the damage type changes to force.
>A shield is made from wood or metal and is carried in one hand. Wielding a shield increases your Armor Class by 2. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.

Zov paid for the shield for her and the +1 hand crossbow for me with the diamond she found on the mountain.

We were informed that the Elves have other weapons for us to look at.
