# [ICON4Py] DaCe Orchestration

## Problem

Major part of the cycle will be spend merging [ICON4Py PR](https://github.com/C2SM/icon4py/pull/514) on DaCe Orchestration.

Additional tasks:

1. Adapt SDFGConvertible interface on GTIR
1. Try DaCe Orchestration in other granules -if time permits-

Future possible directions (to be discussed with @havogt, @egparedes & @magdalena):

1. Revisit Halo Exchange optimizations, i.e. pick GHEX patterns on-the-fly & choose the amount of stuff to overcompute
* exchange based on connectivities (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplicial_complex)
1. Reflect on distributed-GT4Py (discuss with @egparedes: check other libraries, dask, legion, ...)

* Check Dask, Legate: how they abstract the problem
* Top to bottom approach from GTIR (?)
* Halo exchanges should happen in the GTIR level
