# Setup a paper about GT4Py ###### tags: `shaping-archive` ## Why a paper? More and more often we are asked to refer to GT4Py from a paper or project submission. We have a paper in the pipeline based on the Cartesian approach, but this paper has been stuck and we need to put it on arXiv, asap. This project is to set up a publication for gt4py.next. ## Objectives 1. Produce an outline (overleaf) with the basic sections to be implemented and the desired results we would like to have, so that in a next cycle we can work on producing the results and write the paper for publication. Possible venues are SoftwareX, or any conference/workshop in computer science with proceedings (PASC would be a natural candidate, but this would be for next year - maybe we can aim at an earlier publication). 2. Writing an introduction and some sections in a draft to have a sense of what can be a suitable content (the paper would have ~10 pages if for a conference) that gives the right content without being too detailed and long. 3. Discuss the list of authors early on to avoid misunderstandings later on. ## Not in the project The writing of all sections and running experiments for including results. ## Time sinks Dedicate too much time to polishing up and wondering too much about content.
