# Letter to Jordan West about collaborating on focused browsing
###### tags: `Letters` `Focused Browsing`
Hi Jordan,
My name is Arsala, and I am the founder and president of Grey software. Before starting my company, I was (still really am) an avid user and advocate of news feed eradicator. The extension you developed helped me overcome my compulsive Facebook habit, and I will always be grateful for that.
I am reaching out to you today because I think there is an exciting opportunity for us to collaborate on an evolved version of NFE called Focused Browsing.

I have lots of respect for the engineering and writing you've done with NFE, which is why I wanted to humbly ask if you were interested in being contributing to Focused Browsing. We have an evolved codebase with great tech, a team that cares about user experience because we use FB ourselves, and an organization building infrastructure to help promote it and create educational codelabs for it.
You can read our pitch deck slides here: https://docs.focused-browsing.grey.software/
Focused browsing was born out of a codelab I used to take students through when teaching them about the open nature of the web platform. I used to tell students how they were learning the basic building blocks that formed a successful browser extension: NFE.
Two students who wanted to expand their skillset worked with me last year to build LinkedIn focus and Twitter Focus. One of them, Avi, returned during the summer of this year as a contracted developer to help engineer our first app collection product: Focused Browsing. This extension would unify the functionality of our two previous extensions and augment the features offered by News Feed Eradicator.
Avi is seeking full-time employment after this month, so we need help maintaining the engineering side of Focused Browsing.
That is why we would love to have the chance to work with you and build something great for the internet!

From a genuine fan of your work,
Thank you for your time!
Sincerely,
Arsala
