Was ist VirtualBox? Virtualisierungssoftware von Oracle kann unter vielen Betriebssystemen eingesetzt werden: Linux, Windows & Mac OS erlaubt es, auf dem Desktop ein anderes Betriebssystem, ein sogenanntes Gastsystem, auszuführen so lassen sich etwa Programme in der virtuellen Maschine testen, bevor man sie auf dem Produktivsystem einsetzt gegenüber einem Dual-Boot-System bietet die Virtualisierung von Oracle VirtualBox den Vorteil, Schnappschüsse des Gastsystems zu erstellen, zu denen sich jederzeit zurückkehren lässt außerdem lassen sich mehrere Gastbetriebssysteme mit Oracle VirtualBox gleichzeitig ausführen, was allerdings genügend Prozessor-Leistung und genug RAM voraussetzt
