# Automerge - PL Hack week

New [binary data format][] of [automerge][] JSON CRDT library some interesting properties that are a great fit for IPFS.
- All of the state and history is complessed into compact binary representation.
- Conacting two automerege files produces document with documents (auto)merged.

Idea I'd like to prototype is a (non-realtime) collaborative markdown editor where:
- Each participant is added via their IPNS address like a git remote.
- Each participant updates IPNS their record pointing to new automerge document.
- Each participant semi-automaticall pulls changes from participants enabling collaboration.

### Goals

- Asses combination of automerge+IPFS for (non-realtime) collaborative applications.
- Identify the gaps to infrom work of core IPFS team.
- Decentralized alterantive for hackmd.io
