### Case for Clean Money

[The case for Clean Money](https://forum.makerdao.com/t/the-case-for-clean-money/10684)

- Clean money can provide positive global branding.
- Positive global branding promotes higher use-case, volume, and worldwide adoption for Dai and MKR.
- This branding and its message need to be front and center.
- Centralized Financial system is too deep in its problems to restructure itself to solve issues like Climate Change.
- This initiative may come with legal and other risks, depending on how people will view Maker’s intentions.
- Following this initiative can also promote more transparency and organic growth of Maker.
- This will lead to happy employees, users, and associated organizations.
- The next steps (proposals, ideas, etc.) should be done as a decentralized community.
- First, we should create a consensus for key principles.
- Does the community agree with this?
- Write out tangible steps going forward.
- Concern by Wouter: MakerDAO has often been changing its direction, and some people do not like it.
- It may cause some people to opt-out and disagree, but it may open new doors and users.
- If we want to push this, we need to send a very strong signal regarding the new direction to the community.
