I'm just not sure the DAO currently can continue to support this spend every six months. It's a very large percent of our treasury, I haven't heard any plans for Nounish to wean off DAO funding, and I am not sure the cost is justified by the gains right now. The best way to look at this proposal is independent from the other seasons because it has different goals. * **Pilot + Season 1** were about making content for the DAO and about its builders * **Season 2** was about finding PMF * **Season 3** is about scaling and building a massive audience in an authentic and meaningful way for Nouns. This proposal has a clear scope and clear goal, spend $969K to: 10x Reach and get to 800K followers while keeping our high engagement rate and audience type consistent. **Regarding weaning off DAO funding:** We want to build nounish for the next forseeable years. In order to be financially resilient it's strategic for us to diversify our funding sources over time. Our audience is a growing asset and we will experiment with monetizing it during this season (e.g. we already have a major brand interested in partnering with us). However, if we believe a proposal would bring very high value to the DAO, we will come back for future funding (and in this proposal we believe the value is a no-brainer). > > 2. Would like to see season 2 planned vs. actual budget. (Also, shouldn't current budget take through December?) Sorry if it wasn't made clear in this proposal - Season 3 and the stream starts in December and goes to June. The reason we are proposing now is we need to know ahead of time if there's going to be a major change requiring us to pivot. **Season 2 Proposed Budget** Fixed costs and compensation 773k Shoot 105.4k Legal + fees 14.6k Travel 20k Distribution/growth 5k Prop House 36k Web development 15k **Season 2 Actual Budget** Fixed costs and compensation 780k Shoot 160.4k Legal + fees 8.4k Travel 13.2k Distribution/growth 7k > 1. I'd like to see a budget breakdown of how these funds will be spent. Naively, this new model seems like lower cost productions than previous work, but I'd like to understand. Our new model is cheaper per episode. but we are planning on releasing a lot of episodes so we can iterate and double down on our growth - at least 1 episode per week, so at least 24 episodes in the season. This is as opposed to 1-2 pieces of content per month in Season 1 for example. Here's a breakdown of the budget for Season 3: * Fixed costs and compensation 780k (same as season 2) * Shoot 160.6K * Assumes 24 episodes * Episode cost on average $5,500: * Artists fees (3 x $1,000) * Travel/Accom ($2,000) * Materials ($500) * Also leaves $28,600 for additional experiments * Legal + fees 8.2k * Travel 13.2k * Distribution/growth 7k Total 969K # Pikasheep > To this team: Are there plans to cross-post to TikTok? I'm curious how this content would perform on TikTok, where "going viral" happens more quickly and reaches far more users than on Instagram. We are definitely interested in growing on TikTok, as well as on YouTube. We have been testing the show on both platforms. But they aren't blowing up yet. We think the main reason is that Instagram has "learned" who the right audience for our content is, but tiktok & youtube haven't yet. It's > To this team: What do you think about a north star metric of # of artists who have partnered with the nounish account? Perhaps it's too early as you have just found PMF with the format, but I think it's a good metric to iterate towards with the current PMF format.
