# Cryptovandals resale royalties question Hello people, we have been considering how to handle resale royalties for artists in Cryptovandals, our ParTecK Grants project. For non-ParTecK grant people, Cryptovandals is a project that allows NFT owners to change the media linked to an NFT, burning the original and creating a new token in a single transaction so the old and new tokens are linked. We want to respect both original artist and the remixer/collaborator/etc., so we have been trying to decide what is an appropriate way to divide resale royalties. Options are: ## A) Original royalty is split The royalty attached to the original NFT is split between the original beneficiary and the remixer. Likely 10% total royalty, ratio of split could be predefined or set by owner of NFT. The concern here is that the original artist may not agree to the new split, potentially creating legal issues for the owner. ## B) Original royalty plus remixer royalty The original artist gets their full original royalty, and the remixer gets theirs too. The problem here is that Opensea caps royalties at 10%, so original artists often start at 10% by default, which leaves no room for an additional remixer royalty. ## C) Full royalty to one artist Either the original artist or remixer gets the full pie. This is the easiest technical fix but ignores the work done by one artist and could be abused as a tool to just strip resale royalties from NFTs. Thoughts?
