# Doodle: Appliance (Humidifier)

## Why the [humidifier](https://codepen.io/gjc2137/pen/yLMQmNy)?
Coming SUPER late into this attempt at the appliance Doodle assignment, I've had some time to think abou the appliances around me that I wanted to break down "computationally" and landed on my office humidifer, which I turn on every day I'm in first thing in the morning.
I actually had a hard time thinking about how to 1) design a web-version of the humidifer, because 2) it led me to think about what aspect of the humidifier I enjoyed most. To answer the latter as it informs the former, I landed on **the choice of essential oil I deem best for that point in time.** It's not that I'm completely sold on the health benefits of aromatherapy, to be honest, as much as I enjoy *the ritual* of approaching my little machine, splashing some water in and then taking a moment to choose which oil I'm vibing with `ATM` (at the moment).

### So the thought process kind of looks like this:
```javascript=
// ATM variables
let user = "Grace";
let energy = 70; // out of 100
let isNotCompletelyAlright = true;
let needsToWork = true;
// Grace is not really a morning person and thus comes into Zankel 413 needing to "establish the atmosphere" before jumping into work.
// Inventory
const humidifer = [
[1, 'humidifer'],
[1, 'water'],
[1, 'peppermint'], // any oilchoice= +20 in user.userEnergy
];
console.log(items[0]); // accessing items (array)
items[3] = "lavender" OR "eucalyptus"; // Grace's preference is usually peppermint, but she swaps out with lavender or eucalyptus depending on the mood.
user.mentalWellBeing = user.userEnergy + 20;
// ... That is, until work wraps up
// In which case, let needsToWork = false;
```
All that said, I realized after plugging the `functions` into the `buttons` in Codepen that my Doodle became more about what the `humidifier` + `water` + `oilchoice` does for my `mentalWellBeing`, rather than about the actual machine itself. I wish I were skilled enough to compute what the `mist` would look/`function` like in Codepen, but I couldn't really do that without some smooth out-of-my-league animations. 😶
### To summarize...
My favorite thing about my humidifer is choosing what I want to set the mood with for my `user.mentalWellBeing` at that particular moment! It stimulates one of my senses and gets me kicking my gears for the workday, and throughout the same workday for relief and pick-me-ups. *This assignment also reminded me that I should go pick up from peppermint oil from Muji at some point for restock.*
