## Event Cards
Event cards determine available resources and may trigger special events:
1. Standard Resource Distribution: Sets the available resources for the round.
2. Hiring Opportunity: Allows one player to add a new role to their team at level 0.
3. Downsizing: Requires each player to remove one role from their team (Discovery Driver cannot be removed).

### Examples of event cards

Event cards affect the amount of resources available eaach round. We have 4 categories of resources (the 4 pillars of Open Science):
- FAIR Data
- Open Research Software
- Open Access
- Citizen Science

Additionally, cards can have influence on specific roles (for example hire a data steward for free) or can have other effects (e.g. you have to fire one team member due to unexected budget cuts).

### Proposed cards

For resources, make the amount available relative to the baseline (i.e., +- a value).

#### Metamorphic agreement

The university spends an obsene amount of money on an Open Access deal with
a major scientific publisher.

#### FAIR data funding

A pot of money is made available to researchers to fund efforts in making
their data more FAIR.

#### Conference on Open Publishing

A conference is organised to increase the awareness of Open Access models, especially
Diamond Open Access.

**extra effects:** Knowledge liberator is unavailable for the first round.

#### Open Science Infrastructure funding

Funding is made available to projects related to improving the infrastructure of Open Science.

A push to promote different types of research outputs.

#### National Day for Research Software

An event on the importance of good, open research software.
