# Notes from Call with Vivan Chauhan from Polygon
Key takeaways for me (Andrew):
- Having a one-pager describing Drips, our value props and what we're trying to achieve will be super helpful for these conversations
- Polygon doesn't have much of a Grants program today (at least if Vivan is to be believed... he did seem somewhat uncertain at times with his answers)
- To the extent that Polygon has given money in the past, it has been very focused on achieving specific outcomes around promoting ecosystem growth or "community alliance" / co-marketing type efforts
- He wasn't aware of streaming in general and is not super interested in streaming or recurring payments. They mostly think in terms of milestones and milestone-based payments
- He has very little interest in FOSS as a thing and could not name any FOSS projects in particular that Polygon has funded. At one point he actually claimed that Polygon has almost entirely funded closed-source projects in the past (which is almost certainly not true)
- He believes that Polygon has had a strong preference for giving funds to projects rather than individual developers in the past, and probably also in the future although the specific reason for that was somewhat unclear.
I think we should take everything he shared with a big grain of salt, since he seemed relatively new and also more of a "BD" guy than a guy who had specifically worked on grants.
But if we can produce a 1-pager, Vivan also offered to connect us with others at Polygon (e.g. from the "village" team) who might be more knowledgeable about grants specifically.
