**How to build a safe and solid homeschooling reading list/library**
{name}, tomorrow at 12 pm CT I’m teaching a webcast with award-winning author Douglas Bond on…
[**Harry Potter vs. Huck Finn vs. Pilgrim’s Progress** – How to help your kids discern truth from lies in fiction (and write stories that tell truth)]()
I hear from so many folks who struggle to find books that are spiritually wholesome, interesting, and academically robust — all in one shot.
Basically, they want to know: **“What should I give my kids to read?”**
This is exactly what you *should* be asking — and I want to help you find the right answer.
There are five straightforward biblical tests you can use to accurately answer this question. These tests will help you sift out great authors from not-so-great ones (and frankly dangerous ones), so you can fill your shelves with only the best books to shape the next generation of godly thinkers.
These tests not only help you decide *whether* to introduce a particular book to your curriculum, but also *when.*
Another question many parents have is: **“How on earth do I stay ahead of my kids? I can’t keep up with their reading!”**
So I’ll also be teaching you a 10-point checklist for quickly previewing books, and figuring out whether it’s a yay or a nay — without having to read the whole thing.
Finally, as an added bonus, I’ll also be sharing a list of 89 stories that our team has curated for you. **My wife and I used many of these books as the backbone our kids’ literary education when we were homeschooling them.**
We have a handy PDF printout that you can download, with the titles of these 89 stories — along with their authors, what genres they are, and what age range they’re suitable for.
