# Poster Brief for Lady Demands Satisfaction #### Show name The Lady Demands Satisfaction #### Show Overview This show tells the story of young Trothe, who, due to a legal technicality arising from her father’s untimely death, must defend her home with the sword from any who challenge her. Unfortunately for her, she has no idea whatsoever how to fight. What follows is a farcical romp driven by badass female protagonists and rife with comedy, mistaken identity, slapstick, and fighting with everything from swords to soup ladles. #### Show Genre Comedy, farce, period (1700s) England #### Target Audience Feminist, liberal 25 - 40 yr olds who like swordfighting #### What feelings / reaction should the poster evoke? This show is a farce. There's chaos, pomp, circumstance, ridiculous comic violence, meddling servants, and a healthy dose of sword-and-word play. The feeling should be light-hearted and playful, perhaps by implying people who think quite a lot of themselves. This is a 'woman against the world' story, with a particularly inept woman (or so we think, heh...) at the helm. #### Any particular designs themes / features: The setting is a light, airy, gilded manor in the English countryside, and the main character is a silly, naïve wisp cloud of a teenager. Imagery like big poofy wigs or ridiculous beauty spots might be welcome, perhaps with the implication that someone is (comically) defending their home from countless vile (human) intruders. #### Author's Name Arthur M. Jolly #### Director's name James Kiesel #### Performance Dates 29 November - 9 December 2023
