# **Album Mockup (Quick) Tutorial** # ╰(´︶`)╯ Hi, hi! Thank you so much for liking and asking about my album mockups! This is hopefully a quick tutorial and guide that makes sense on how I did everything. I tried not to over explain, but hopefully it makes sense. If you have any extra questions about what I did or if I didn't make sense please feel free to ask. > *Apologies in advacne for my terrible handwriting and if I didn't make sense, I wrote this really fast with no proof reading*. --- ## **Tutorial** ## ### **Cover** ### So, initially I just created a document around 1000 x 1000 at 72 ppi. I just chose a colour that I felt would suit the member (in this case Changbin's which I made first) and then added a texture ontop of the background to give it a grainy feel. This gives it slightly more realistic feel! > ![](https://i.imgur.com/4duh9iE.jpg) After, using the shape tools, I made a black rectangle and duplicated it. Whatever colour you want your album to be you should set the rectangle to that! To both of these, I added a drop shadow, and on the layer that's on the bottom, I set the fill to 0 since it isn't needed. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/cQeX4Hz.jpg) Then, I put a white line at 40% from the top of the album to the bottom. After which, I set two gradients one that goes in either direction on either side of the line. These are both set to about 10%. These are to give the album more depth and shadows. They aren't so clear in the above picture, but if you remove the black background, you can see it better like this: > ![](https://i.imgur.com/FlnDqu2.jpg) > > ![](https://i.imgur.com/GwNflhh.jpg) After, I added the same texture as the background (for the papery look, but if you wanted a different texture on the album you can do that) and a layer of gradient light across the front. On top of the light layer, which is set to 5% opacity, I also added a layer that darkened it. The texture layer is set to 15%. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/l242nMV.jpg) Then adding the album art in is all you have to do! So the title as well as the picture which I create in another document, then you place it on top of the top rectangle layer! I also add my own colouring on top of the whole thing, as well as watermark, but those are fairly simple! (For the colouring, I add a mask so it only affects the album but not the back ground!) > ![](https://i.imgur.com/h9lrTmy.jpg) ### **CD** ### Starting with the same background and texture as before, this time, instead of a rectangle, I made three 3 circles, each one smaller than the last. The very bottom most one was a dark grey, with an inner shadow, to simulate depth. The circle on top of that is a slightly lighter grey and is set to 60%- this is to simulate the very edge of the CD. The final and smallest circle of the three is where your CD artwork would go! > ![](https://i.imgur.com/YBwsTxW.jpg) After this, I added a very concentrated gradient that was diagonal! This is to simulate the reflection of light, again giving a more realistic feel to the CD. This layer is set to 15% and has a mask so it only affects the CD shape. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/h77jy2N.jpg) Then, I copied the first and third circle shapes, making them smaller and placing them in the center of everything. This is the place from where you'd grab the CD. On top of the top most layer, I added a slightly lighter gray, again for light and depth. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/3oN0LX3.jpg) Next, I added an extra little detail, which isn't necessary but adds to the realistic look. It's the little divet that allows for ease of access when taking the CD out. It's simply a half circle, positioned to the side with a shadow painted on, and set so it's only affecting the half circle layer. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/Pc7bhlj.jpg) Finally, like the cover, I add in the details. The art, the title, the name, and the little copyright things that make it look more real. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/Ov0L3ZQ.jpg) ### **CD Backing** ### This is the simplest one, using the rectangular shape I created for the Album Cover, without the light gradient, I copied and pasted the CD design over it in the center. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/c11pxIH.jpg) ### **Photocards** ### The photocards are really simple. This time you have 4 rectangles, each with drop shadows and instead of sharp corners this time, round them out slightly. The colours for the top two won't matter as you're putting an image over them, but make the bottom two, whatever the backing of the PC would be! > ![](https://i.imgur.com/pjSEahZ.jpg) After that, I brought the images and placed them over the respective rectangles and applied them so they only affect the layer underneath. The backs of the PCs are simply the title + the signature of the member. But this is where you can do whatever you want! On top of everything I also put a colouring like I've done with everything so far. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/cFbonqL.jpg) ### **Lyrics Book** ### For this one you simply have to copy the steps from the Album Cover, and the duplicate everything to the left to make the second page! The only things you have to change is moving the line for the spine into the middle between the two pages of the spread, as well as increase the brightness or contrast of the light gradient that makes it have the 3D look, so it looks more like pages rather than a flat book. > ![](https://i.imgur.com/6NnYmtd.jpg) --- ### Thank you! 🖤🌙 ### Hope this was helpful and made sense! If you have any extra questions, please feel free to ask. I'll try to proof read this later and make sure it makes actual sense... Heh...
