# Discussion is to be forgotten
The point is of a business or decision meeting is to decide - that is to create [Action Points](/nTMUCiJ3Q3-TCKKMGo46hQ). The point is not to learn, or discuss, or share wisdom and knowledge - those activities are for other (types of) meeting. Business meetings are boring - the point is to keep them short (hard) and focussed on decisions - freeing up the time and space for discussion elsewhere.
# But...
There will of course be discussions. This can;t be helped. That is fine. As long as you promise not to remember them. Nothing absolutley nothing that happens in the business meeting is to be remembered.
> It is not allowed to say - "but you SAID that xyz..."
> The only thing you can say is "You agreed to this action point"
If and when there is a need to describe something, or discuss something => produce a document. Put it in writing, or have a discussion meeting, or dsign meeting, of document meeting and create or record a document of some sort.
As an example say there is a need to agree on how to deal with a complicated problem X. The action point may be "Wendy to organise a meeting regarding X and create a report for next meeting". Then at the next meeting everyone can review the document take part in whatever discussion meetings are needed, and then at the next business (decision) meeting decide on an action.
Memory occurs in transparent well documented (discussion) meetings. Forgetting (must) happen in business (decision) meetings.
## Why?
The reason for the forgetting is to avoid the possibility of indirect, undocumented power structures taking place in undocumented meetings. For this to happen it is to be understood that nothing that is "dicussed" in the meeting is to have any consequence (and therefore power). This is a soft structure, but an effective one if taken seriously.
This allows more freeflow autonomous playful, undocumented meetings - which have minimal bureacracy. It does this while seeking to avoid soft power based corruptive forces.
## Transparency
This is completely compatible with transparency, and of documenting and recording fully meetings. The explicit aim is to record richly and fully all discussions. But thhere should also be places without cameras, bedrooms and silent retreats. A meeting focussed only on decisions ([Action Points](/nTMUCiJ3Q3-TCKKMGo46hQ)) is an example of such an expetion.
